Khasab, Oman
Situated in the northernmost part of Oman, Khasab is the capital of Musandam. The relatively undiscovered region is isolated from the rest of Oman by the United Arab Emirates, and due to its geographical position and mountainous terrain, it has developed at its own pace.
Khasab juts into the Strait of Hormuz, an important avenue for the majority of the Gulf’s oil trade - its main industry is fishing and transportation is mostly by sea. The Peninsula has many spectacular sheltered fjords, which at times are only connected to the mainland by narrow cliffs.
Consequently, the area has been dubbed the Norway of Arabia. Khasab and the surrounding area has become more accessible due to roads being cut through the mountains, and the region is renowned for its challenging diving sites, mountain safaris and dhow cruises on the fjords.
Below are examples of excursions that have previously been offered from this port of call. A fully detailed programme of the included and optional tours available during your cruise will be sent shortly before your departure.
