About our cruises

Spirit of Adventure

Having cruised aboard Minerva II in the past, we had a most enjoyable cruise aboard Spirit of Adventure. She is a friendly and welcoming ship with wonderful food and service, and one of the best captains you could hope to sail with.

Every day a new learning experience

As you arrive in each port a new discovery awaits.

On most Spirit of Adventure holidays you fly straight to the sun and the area of interest, which means that there will be no lengthy periods at sea, so you take in as many destinations as possible during your voyage. We plan our itineraries for you to spend as much time in port as possible, allowing you to really get close to the culture and absorb the local flavour. As you arrive in each port a new discovery awaits. So many of the ancient ports visited by Spirit of Adventure have fascinating stories to tell and our experts will share these with you.

ExcursionsIncluded excursions

A choice of excursions are included at every port during your cruise to help you make the most of your time ashore. These have been designed to show you the main attractions, landmarks and highlights of a city or region and will either be a full or half-day in duration. All excursions will be led by a local English-speaking guide who will provide fascinating information on the places that you visit. Wherever possible, you will be accompanied by one of our expert guest speakers who will be on-hand to offer further information.

LecturerAbsorbing lectures

Every cruise aboard Spirit of Adventure is enhanced by our expert guest speakers who will give lectures of up to a maximum of 45 minutes long. Their aim is to inform and enthuse, bringing to life the host of cities, sites and landmarks that you will take in during your voyage and to share their enthusiasm in an accessible and friendly way. All of our guest speakers are experts in their fields, ranging from archaeology, art and history to religion, culture and cuisine. Their knowledge, insight and passion for the places you visit and the cultures you experience will ensure you get the most from your cruise as they enrich your holiday with their own stories, experiences and knowledge.

BicyclesEnriching activities

Whilst on board, a range of activities are on offer for you to participate in. Perhaps enjoy sampling the wines of the region you are cruising, learn some useful phrases in our language classes, try your hand at watercolour painting or simply play an informal game of cards. Alternatively, you could embark on an expedition by launch boat on selected cruises. Other activities such as scuba diving in Nha Trang, Vietnam and sailing in Bodrum, Turkey will be at an additional cost when you venture ashore. Bikes are also available to borrow from the ship at no extra charge, allowing you to explore independently if you wish.

Important Note on physical fitness

Spirit of Adventure’s cruises often involve walking on uneven ground, including some steep ascents, climbing steps and getting in and out of trains, tenders or zodiacs. Good footwear is therefore essential and a certain level of fitness is required. It must be pointed out that the cruises may not be suitable for passengers who require assistance or who have difficulties with mobility.
